Mission Statement
The purpose of the Flute Society of Saint Louis is to provide our members with events that showcase the flute in quality of musical programs and address other integral aspects of flute playing and musicianship.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FSSL FLUTE CHOIR
We’re excited to share that the FSSL Flute Choir has been selected to perform at the 2026 National Flute Association Convention in Portland, Oregon!
This is such a special honor, and I am incredibly proud of this group and all the hard work, musicianship, and dedication that went into preparing our audition. We are thrilled for the opportunity to represent our flute choir and our community on a national stage. We will perform at the convention on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 8:00–9:15 a.m.
If you would like to support the flute choir as we prepare for this exciting opportunity, we would love to see you at our upcoming performance on May 17 at 2:00 p.m., which will also include a bake sale fundraiser. We also look forward to sharing details soon about a summer trivia night, and for those who wish to contribute directly, our GoFundMe can be found here:

Flute Choir Reading Session
-
- Date: Sunday, August 30, 2026
- Location: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
- 6337 Clayton Rd., St. Louis
This relaxed evening is open to returning Flute Choir members, prospective members, and anyone interested in experiencing flute choir. Advanced high school students, college students, adult players, teachers, and community musicians are all welcome!
We’ll spend the evening:
- Sight-reading fun and engaging music
- Exploring repertoire featuring the flute family from piccolo to bass
- Sharing information about the upcoming season
- Meeting new players and reconnecting with familiar friends
There is no audition, pressure, or commitment required to attend. This is just a chance to play, learn more about the choir, and enjoy making music together. Whether you’ve been playing regularly or feel a little rusty, you are invited!
Please bring your flute and a music stand. Piccolos, alto flutes, and bass flutes are welcome too.
After we finish reading, all are welcome to stay for ice cream and time to mingle, ask questions, and get to know one another a little better.
